Kromatic’s Hiring Process

Our team has been going strong for 10 years and we love working with each other. We’ve had team members come, go, and sometimes come back. So we want to keep our ways of working and continue to improve them.

To do that, we go through a pretty thorough hiring process when looking for full time team members. So here’s what you should expect if you’re looking to work with us.

Step 1 - Say Hello

  • Send us an email with links to your resume, project portfolio, and anything else you’d like to share.
  • For a marketing person, it could be your LinkedIn url and your personal website showing example campaigns.
  • For an engineer, this could be your Upwork, Github, Bitbucket, Stackoverflow, or other profile where we can view some of your code.


Step 2 - Introductions

  • Have a short call with one of our teammates to answer your questions about the role and make sure it makes sense to go through our interview process.


Step 3 - Team Interviews

  • 2-3 interviews with our team to assess your fit for the role and our company.
  • These interviews are not solely about your skills. They cover a range of topics including your work style and how we can set you up for success in our remote work environment.
  • We generally conduct these interviews in pairs, so you’ll have a chance to meet 4-6 team members and hear what working here is like.


Step 4 - Reference Checks

  • We will conduct 3+ short interviews with your previous employment references.
  • Depending on the position you are applying to and which clients you might work with, there may be an additional background check.


Step 5 - Try Working Together

  • We’ll give you a short take home project. (We will pay you for this!)
  • This is an opportunity for us to work together and make sure it’ll work in the long run. (We sometimes do a contract-to-hire arrangement.)


Step 6 - Offer
